Rihanna Streams Surge 640 Percent After Super Bowl Halftime Show

Have you heard the news? Rihanna is back and better than ever! After seven years, the megastar returned to the world stage with a spellbinding performance at the Super Bowl Halftime show. Her set list was an absolute showstopper, ranging from her unapologetic “Diamonds” to her hooky “Work.” It’s no surprise that the performance has led to significant increases in streaming and Rihanna-related searches.

In the days leading up to the big game, Spotify promoted the Halftime performer’s “This is Rihanna” playlist, a megamix containing her most beloved hits. This promotion led to three of her songs (“Umbrella,” “We Found Love” and “Love on the Brain”) crossing the billion-stream mark on Spotify. Her overall streams on Spotify spiked more than 640% across the United States.

Apple Music also saw a significant spike in concurrent listeners, with a 331% increase worldwide. Shazam, a song recognition app, noted that “We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)” was the most-searched song from the performance. Additionally, viewers were also treated to a mini Fenty Beauty ad by the music and business mogul.

Rihanna’s performance was one for the books and her return to the world stage was nothing short of triumphant. Read on to find out more about the incredible numbers and streaming increases that Rihanna’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime show generated.
