Are you ready for an incredible story about life, fate, and identity? Ben Stiller is nearing a deal to star in a limited series adaptation of the documentary “Three Identical Strangers”, and this is the perfect time to get to know the amazing story behind it.
This series will tell the story of Bobby Shafran, David Kellman, and Eddy Galland – identical triplets who were separated at birth. When Bobby, the first of the triplets, was 19, he was surprised to find out that he had an identical twin, and the two soon discovered a third brother. This incredible story of fate and identity has captivated audiences since the documentary first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018.
Ben Stiller will star as the three adult brothers, and the series will be written by Amy Lippman with Sony Pictures Television producing along with SK Global and TriStar Television. Stiller will also executive produce via Red Hour Films, and Sidney Kimmel, John Penotti, Charlie Corwin, Marcy Ross, Piers Vellacott, Dimitri Doganis, and Tim Wardle of RAW and Emmeline Yang Hankins will also executive produce.
This will mark a rare television appearance for Stiller, and one of his first major acting roles in years. He has made cameo appearances in films like “Hubie Halloween” and “Bros” of late, as well as appearing in the 2021 film “Locked Down”. His last starring role was in the film “The Meyerowitz Stories” in 2017. Stiller’s other notable acting roles include “Zoolander”, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”, the “Night at the Museum” franchise, “Dodgeball”, and “Meet the Parents”.
This series will be an incredible look into the lives of the triplets and the power of fate. It will be written by Amy Lippman, who most recently co-created the reboot of “Party of Five” at Freeform, and executive produced by Ben Stiller.
